HOME AGAIN PROGRAM

 

 

Purpose:

The Home Again Program provides low-income homeowners an affordable way to improve the quality of their living conditions through home repair and enhancements to their house.

 

In most cases, the work is completed at no additional charge to the homeowner.

 

Qualifications:

  1. YOU must own the home

  2. The taxes and utilities must be current

  3. Fall under 80% of the HUD Maximum Median Income for Cumberland County, PA

  4. Willingness to Partner with CVHFH

  5. Submit an application with a non-refundable fee of $50

 

Scope of Work:

The Home Again Program will encompass repairs and improvements to the houses owned by low-income families in the following categories:

  1. Beautification: Painting, Landscaping and Exterior Repair

  2. Weatherizing: Windows, Doors, Insulation and Caulking

  3. Mechanical: Heating, Plumbing and Electrical

  4. Construction: Ramps, Stairs and other needs

 

Process:

  1. Complete the application and mail to 39 Heiser Lane, Carlisle, PA 17015

  2. CVHFH will review the application

  3. If applicant qualifies, CVHFH staff/volunteers will visit the home to determine what Habitat can offer the applicant

  4. CVHFH will present their recommendations to the CVHFH Building Committee to authorize work and expense of project

  5. If approved by the Building Committee, the project will be assigned a coordinator and/or volunteer leader

  6. Volunteers will be coordinated to work on a specific site with a project leader, and work will be completed
